Growler смотреть последние обновления за сегодня на .
The story of the Growler began in the early 2000s. As the US Navy's EA-6B Prowler fleet, which had been in service since 1971, started showing signs of age and fatigue, a replacement was needed. Thus, the call for a new, more capable electronic attack aircraft was made. By September 2007, six EA-18G Growlers had been delivered and were undergoing operational testing. The Growler, based on the proven F/A-18F Super Hornet, was more than just a derivative. It was an evolution. The cockpit of the Growler is a high-tech space where the pilot and electronic warfare officer work in tandem to operate the aircraft's systems. This aircraft is also fitted with a Joint Helmet-Mounted Cueing System (JHMCS), allowing the pilot to aim sensors and weapons wherever they're looking. The electronic warfare suite of the Growler is its true power center. Initially, the suite included up to three AN/ALQ-99 radar jamming pods, an AN/ALQ-218(V)2 receiver, and a Raytheon AN/ALQ-227 communications countermeasures set. The Growler can carry AIM-120 AMRAAM and AIM-9X Sidewinder missiles for self-defense, and is equipped with an M61A1 20 mm cannon. The aircraft can also carry AGM-88 High-Speed Anti-Radiation Missiles (HARM) and the advanced AGM-88E Advanced Anti-Radiation Guided Missile (AARGM), both designed to target enemy radar systems. It can carry a range of smart bombs, including laser-guided bombs and GPS-guided Joint Direct Attack Munitions (JDAM) and can be equipped with the AGM-154 Joint Standoff Weapon (JSOW) and the AGM-84 Harpoon anti-ship missile. The EA-18G Growler is built around the successful and combat-proven F/A-18 series of aircraft, which have served as the U.S. Navy’s primary carrier-based multi-role fighters for many years. This makes the EA-18G Growler significantly faster and more maneuverable than previous electronic attack aircraft, which had been based more on transport aircraft designs. Because of its prominent role on the world stage, adversaries are continuously looking for ways to disable or deter a carrier. As a result, a carrier is always escorted by ships designed to protect it, from destroyers to cruisers, and the occasional submarine. All of these units work in conjunction with each other to form a defensive network to protect the carrier. Yet there is another critical component to this network that often gets overlooked: the EA-18g Growler. The Growler not only provides defensive and reconnaissance data to the carrier strike group, it also provides escort jamming to strike aircraft to and from a target. In many ways the Growler is at the tip of the spear and the defender of the fleet, while also being able to provide its own offensive capabilities as well. Built on the combat proven Super Hornet Airframe, today we will take a look at the development of the Growler, the aircraft it replaced the Northrop Grumman EA-6B Prowler, its operational history, what roles it plays today and some potential future aviation capabilities. This video features electronic warfare systems by Northrop Grumman and the Boeing EA-18G Growler Vaq-140. RAAF aircraft are also discussed Enjoy this content? The Royal Australian Air Force has proudly shown off its Boeing EA-18G Growler electronic attack aircraft during Exercise Red Flag in Nevada. Inspired by some of the features of the F/A-18F Super Hornet and the US Marine Corps' Prowler aircraft, the Boeing EA-18G Growler's primary role is to jam enemy radar systems. The aircraft is armed with an AGM-88 missile which can be used to knock out radar systems on the ground. It also has an ALQ-99 pod which can be used to attack a range of different targets. Space is a premium on the flight deck. After I launch, you see me execute a clearing turn to the right, then back to the left. The Boeing EA-18G growler is U.S navy's secret weapon that can blind the enemies. It is a variant of F/A-18 Super Hornet, and it's important role is to jam radars and communication signals. The growler first flew on August 15th 2006, and features F/A-18 super hornet airframe, which makes it a faster and more agile electronic warfare aircraft than previous models. Some people might mistaken ALQ-99 jamming pods as drop tanks on growler's wings but they're actually jamming pods. The growler is Navy's secret weapon, and these pods are growler's secret weapons. The ALQ-99 intercepts and automatically processes radar signals, and power manages the system's transmitters to effectively jam large numbers of diverse radar threats with very high effective radiated power, each pod contains a ram air turbine for power. It's capable of maximum speed of Mach 1.6, and range of 975 miles, but with external fuel tanks. It is also armed with two A G M-88 HARMs, or high-speed anti-radiation missiles, along with the two AIM-120s. The back-seat officer is in charge of these munitions. #shorts #youtubeshorts #ea18g #growler #usnavy #unitedstatesnavy

This was a light division recovery aboard the USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN-71) on the backside of a 1.5-hour training sortie about 300 nm west of Guam. At the beginning of the jam, we enter low holding overhead Mom at angels 3, waiting for the deck to clear and the fighters at angels 2 to break the deck. After a couple of laps, it was our turn for the overhead. I get waived off due to improper lens settings on the arresting gear on my first pass. A video for the song 'One Million Lovers' by The Growlers.
The US Navy is deploying six Growler electronic warfare aircraft to Germany. The jets jam and destroy enemy air defence radar. The Pentagon is stressing the move’s aimed at bolstering NATO’s eastern flank and says the jets won’t engage with Russian forces. Simon Newton reports. Rocky Mountain bills the Growler 40 as “an incredibly capable hardtail” and with its 64-degree head tube angle, it's the slackest of all the bikes we rode on the Sunshine Coast, but how did it hold up against the other hardtails? Powerful Boeing EA-18G Growler is an American carrier-based electronic warfare aircraft, a specialized version of the two-seat FA-18F Super Hornet. The EA-18G Growler replaced the Northrop Grumman EA-6B Prowlers in service with the United States Navy. The Growler's electronic warfare capability is primarily provided by Northrop Grumman. The EA-18G began production in 2007 and entered operational service with the US Navy in late 2009. Australia has also purchased twelve EA-18Gs, which entered service with the Royal Australian Air Force in 2017. Today, we are in the cockpit of an EA-18G Growler aboard the USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN-71) somewhere in the Pacific Ocean near Guam in 2017. This will be a MAX power Case I launch off catapult 3 on a day training sortie. The aircraft carrier always points into the wind during flight operations. Often times, this means that the ship is driving towards inclement weather. This was the case here. Around time 6:00, the rain starts and the winds pickup. Around time 7:00 the winds intensify and I can no longer see beyond the bow. The deck crew doesn't miss a beat and keeps it coming! Luckily this was an isolated storm that we passed thorough quickly. Just another day on the boat. Fly Navy! Welcome aboard an EA-18G Growler recovery and sketchy taxi aboard the USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN-71) in the Arabian Gulf. On the flight deck, directors and pilots work closely together to carefully taxi 70+ million dollar aircraft inches from the edge of the flight deck. The nose gear of the Super Hornet is slightly behind the pilot, so, when taxiing near the edge of the flight deck, the pilot's feet can actually lie over the water when the the aircraft is in a turn. Thanks for watching. Fly Navy! If you like the video, please like, subscribe, and turn on notifications – I appreciate it! If we get enough support, we can keep this channel going. Ever wonder what it's like in the cockpit of an EA-18G Growler? Watch to find out! This week on Exercise Pitch Black 2022 we’ve been conducting dissimilar air combat training drills with international forces, like the Indian Air Force Sukhoi Su-30MKI and our Growler electronic attack aircraft operated by No. 6 Squadron. The Growler is capable of disrupting, deceiving or denying a broad range of military electronic systems, including radars and communications. Exercise Pitch Black features a range of realistic, simulated threats which can be found in a modern battle-space environment and is an opportunity to test and improve our force integration, utilising one of the largest training airspace areas in the world. We're working with our multinational partners to build our collective capability and enhance regional security.
