Avant de se rendre à Pétra, nous avons fait un tour à la vallée de Kerad pour 2 jours de canyonning. Le premier Wadi Bin Hammad, beaucoup plus naturel, et perdu dans les montagnes. Ce Canyon mouillé était surtout une balade à travers de hautes falaises de grès, des cascades, une nature sauvage ... Le second Wadi Mujib était très touristique, les falaises étaient si hautes et étroites que peu de soleil descendait jusqu'au canyon. Une merveille tout de même. Wadi veut dire vallée. sig trail. In het binnenland van Jordanië, ongeveer een uur rijden vanaf Karak, kun je een heerlijke wandeling maken in de Wadi Bin Hammad. Verwonder je over de mooie wereld van een wadi midden in de woestijn. Bevind je even in een overvloed aan water, planten en dieren. Ik deed ongeveer 2 uur over de wandeling. Een uur heen en een uur terug. Je komt dus weer uit bij het beginpunt. Kosten zijn 5 JOD entree en als je voorbij de waterval wil met de trap betaal je ook daar 5 JOD voor. Geniet van de verfrissende wadi in het droge woestijn landschap van Jordanië 🙏

Today we headed 1 hour north of Petra to do the Wadi An Nakhil walk - otherwise known as Wadi Ghuweir. I'd read conflicting information both in books and online regarding hiking Wadi Ghuweir without a guide, but the more I looked into it and the more locals I asked, I realised that because it's just outside the Dana Nature Reserve (Dana Biosphere reserve), it is indeed possible to do the Wadi Ghuweir hike without a guide. This travel vlog tries to show how it's possible to hike Wadi Ghuweir for free, as a there and back (not relying on transport at the other end) and without a guide. In the video, you'll see what the road is like (we managed it just fine in a Toyota Yaris rental car), the fact that for 95% of it, it's an easy hike near Petra (the other 5% is technical, but do-able!) The wadi begins somewhat plain with just rock and sand, but the further into it you get, the more green it becomes, until before you know it, you've hit a Desert Oasis in Jordan. If you enjoy hiking and are planning a Jordan Vacation, I would strongly recommend completing the Wadi Al-Nakheel hike when you visit Jordan. One of the finest hikes in Jordan. Wadi Bin Hammad is one of the deep valleys and it’s located in the Kerak (al-Karak) area. The road by car from the main road to the entrance to the canyon is quite steep and at the time we were there in 2023 it was unpaved. This short and attractive family-friendly walk is an easy stroll for all ages and is a wonderful introduction to Jordan’s hidden natural treasures. The amazing Wadi Bin Hammad near Al - Karak city , Jordan. One of the most beautiful places in the Middle east... As soon as we enter bin Hammad, you shall see a new world with beautiful hanging gardens, palms and ferns growing wherever you might turn. You might even see orchids and even sugarcane! And a spectacular view of a hot spring falling into an artificial pool! Farther down, the cliffs are more visible, close together and brightly colored!

Di Jordan, Kerak (al-Karak) terkenal dengan istana tentera salib yang mengagumkan, di mana pertempuran Homer berlaku antara Saladin dan Renaud de Chatillon, sekitar 1180 Masihi. Wadi Bin Hammad terletak berhampiran Kerak. Wadi Bin Hammad yang terkenal dengan keindahan tebing batu pasir tinggi, air terjun , taman gantung, aliran bucolic. Keadaan kawasan sekeliling di Wadi Ibn Hamad memang menenangkan jiwa. Jauh dari kebisingan lagu-lagu arab yang dipasang dikedai-kedai. , Jauh dari bunyi hon kereta dan lori. Kawasan Wadi Ibn Hamad merupakan kawasan lembah berbatu yang terletak di bawah paras laut. Kawasannya amat berhampiran dengan Laut Mati. Terdapat sungai kecil mengalir di bawah lembahnya dengan beberapa mata air panas keluar dari perut bumi di bahagian atas berhampiran sungai. Terdapat sebuah kolam disediakan dan air panas semulajadi disalurkan ke kolam tersebut. Pengunjung pasti akan kagum dengan tebing, taman gantung, air terjun yang jatuh di wadi. Aktiviti disana sesuai untuk semua peringkat umur.
This is a beautiful canyon in Karak with a small stream relatively easy to walk with children, despite walking in water. Hanging gardens, beautiful rock formations, refreshing natural showers, wild palm trees clinging on the edge of the cliff, white and blue stream! It is really a hidden gem. The road is challenging for the last kilometres. We recommend you take snacks as there is nothing close by, and a change of shoes and shorts for the way back!
